Generosity Project
Our generosity project is our way of loving friends and neighbors. The Christmas Tree Giveaway event is just one expression of “The Generosity Project”. Through flowers, pumpkins and Christmas trees we say we care and we love our community.
How it started
The original Generosity Project event was inaugurated in December 2014. The idea was simple: a free Christmas Tree with NO STRINGS ATTACHED! As the years went on, the total number of trees given away increased and this event expanded to include kids activities, food, warm beverages, and Christmas Wreath making.
COMMUNITY WEST WINTER GENEROSITY PROJECT
150 Trees were given away as an expression of love for our friends and community. Everyone enjoyed hot cocoa, activities and receiving a tree.
OUR EVENTS
Until 2019 The Generosity Project only found its expression through our annual Christmas Tree Giveaway. A Pumpkin Giveaway, was added to our expressions of generosity to celebrate the fall season. We learned that generosity should not be limited to one part of the year and are continuing to look for ways to celebrate generosity all year long. Join us October 4th at 9:00am.
In 2021 we developed a flower giveaway to celebrate the spring season. For this event we give away red geraniums to plant hope in people’s lives as the COVID-19 pandemic has lingered with us. We continue to share joy through flowers.
