Sermon Series | Disciple Making

It seems that the past two years the Lord has put one of the gospels on my heart.  Last year it was the gospel of John, with John's wonderful focus on new and eternal life.  "But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and by believing, you may have life in his name!"  (John 20:31)

This year, I've been drawn to Matthew's gospel and his focus on disciple-making. Matthew's gospel is the only one that includes the Great Commission, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you" (Mt. 28:19-20a).  What I love about Matthew is he shares Jesus' own burden for disciple-making and he lays out Jesus' plan for the Church.  I think it's both thrilling and important for us to see that vision as well.  I hope you'll join us this Sunday, and each week, for this series!
